HARRISONBURG, VA (Rocktown Now) — The Rockingham Harrisonburg SPCA will be partnering with Petsmart in Harrisonburg to help more pets get adopted this week as part of PetSmart Chartities’ National Adoption Week.
PetSmart Charities gave the RHSPCA a $27,000 grant allows them to help more animals get adopted.
Adoption events will take place Tuesday and Thursday evening from 5:30pm-7pm and Saturday and Sunday from 10:30am-12pm where fees will be half price for adult pets.
“Receiving this grant for a second year allows us to reach more adopters and expand opportunities for pets in our community. Last year, more than 250 animals were adopted through our PetSmart partnership, and this funding helps us build on that success, especially for animals in foster care who don’t thrive in the shelter,” said Huck Nawaz, Executive Director of the Rockingham Harrisonburg SPCA.
“Our animal welfare partners in local communities are determined to keep pace with the need, and deserve support,” said Aimee Gilbreath, president of PetSmart Charities. “We’re proud to work alongside the RHSPCA and appreciate the critical steps they take to advocate for the animals that come through their doors in need of love, safety, care and nutrition. Please consider supporting their lifesaving work through volunteering, fostering, adopting, or by donating.”
