HARRISONBURG, VA (Rocktown Now) — Rocktown High School has announced that Kara Durren has been selected as the school’s first Head Varsity Volleyball Coach. The 2024 season will be Durren’s third year coaching varsity high school volleyball. She began her volleyball career at Eastern Mennonite University where she played all four years until she graduated in 2020. Coach Durren started coaching at Harrisonburg High School (HHS) in 2022. At HHS she served as the Varsity Assistant Coach the past two seasons.

In a release, RHS Student Athletics and Activities Director, Jonathan Middleton, said “Durren is a positive, high-energy, optimistic coach who is excited to build the volleyball program for Rocktown High School. Durren is a passionate leader and wants all of our student-athletes to succeed on and off the court. We are excited to have her represent our Rocktown Raptors!”
