The Bridgewater Reds have forced a seventh and deciding game in the Rockingham County Baseball League Championship Series, as they won at Clover Hill on Monday night, 3-2, for their third straight victory.

The series is now tied 3-3 and Game 7 will be at Bridgewater on Wednesday.

The Bucks took the early lead in Game 6 Monday as Kevin Kirk had a RBI ground out in the bottom of the second inning, but the Reds answered right back in the top of the third on a Chris Huffman RBI single.

Clover Hill regained the lead in the third inning as Isaac Sumpter scored on a throwing error, but Bridgewater answered back in the fifth inning as Brett Tharpe had a two-out RBI single to even the game 2-2.

And then the Reds took the lead for good in the sixth inning, as Noah Cornwell hit a solo home run to centerfield and that was all Derek Shifflett would need.

Shifflett threw a complete game for Bridgewater as he allowed just five hits and two runs, and he struck out five.

Bucks’ starter Jaden Isidro suffered the loss on the mound, but he threw a complete game as well. Isidro gave up three runs on eight hits, and he struck out six.

Mason Hamilton led the Reds with two hits, while Josh Eberly had two for Clover Hill.

Game 7 will take place on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. from Ray Heatwole Field in Bridgewater. You can listen to the game on ESPN Harrisonburg (106.9 FM | 1360 AM) and ESPNHarrisonburg.com.
