ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, VA (Rocktown Now) — The Rockingham County School Board approved a Budget Amendment for the 2025 Fiscal Year during last night’s meeting.
The amendment will provide additional funds for technology equipment and capital projects that round up to approximately $2 million.
Chief Financial Officer Justin Moyers said the additional funds will come from the State as well as Medicaid.
“This money will then be allocated back to technology equipment and then the difference will go into our Capital Projects Fund to be spent on security cameras this next fiscal year.”
The board also passed a motion to award the contract for purchasing 1-thousand Chromebooks to the lowest bidder, CDW Education, for approximately 668-thousand dollars.
