ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, VA (Rocktown Now) — Rockingham County Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Larry Shifflett presented an update regarding student conduct for the 2024–2025 school year during last night’s school board meeting.
Dr. Shifflett said the core focus of last year’s comprehensive plan was student safety.
“It does remain a high priority for the school division,” said Dr. Shifflett. “It remains a high priority for me as the Divison Superintendent. It’s important that we keep a pulse on where we are in terms of student conduct.”
The presentation included discipline data that highlighted behaviors and actions such as cell phone violations, excessive tardies and skipping, physical altercations and obscene language.
Policy violations such as weapons and the use of narcotics were also included.
