ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, VA (Rocktown Now) — Rockingham County School Superintendent Dr. Larry Shifflett went over the draft of the Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) during last night’s school board meeting.

The overview of the 5-year Capital Improvement Plan included renovation and addition to McGaheysville Elementary School and building a new Technical Center for Massanutten Technical Center.

Dr. Shifflett also added a potential change after showing projected enrollment numbers for Elkton lowering.

“And I share those numbers with you to say we could potentially if the board desires talk to our county folks about moving Spotswood back in front of Elkton Middle School in the process,” said Dr. Shifflett.

He added that the renovation for Spotswood would move up to Fall of 2027 and be completed by August of 2029 to get it started sooner.

Dr. Shifflett will present the plan to the CIP committee on November 17th
