ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, VA (Rocktown Now) — Rockingham County School Superintendent Dr. Larry Shifflett says he is going old school and bringing back one-hour delays on inclement weather days.
Shifflett said during this week’s school board meeting that a one-hour delay has not been implemented in at least 10 years but says when two-hour delays are used, morning students at Massanutten Technical Center aren’t able to have class, so the one-hour delay would allow them to have class.
Shifflett adds that there still could be two-hour delays when warranted.
He also said that they could miss up to four more days of school before they would have to adjust the schedule for make-up days.
