ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, VA (Rocktown Now) — The Rockingham County School Board approved three bid recommendations, including one renewal, during last night’s meeting. 

Director of Food and Nutrition Services Jennifer Williams presented the bid recommendations for Milk and Produce for the RCPS 2025-2026 school year. Williams also included the renewal of the Food and Paper Products bid recommendation. 

After the approval, Williams brings up the topic of the Styrofoam container ban in Virginia and how that will affect RCPS schools. 

“As of July 1st, Food Services has not purchased any Styrofoam products and then Styrofoam products are not going to be available for our staff to purchase next school year,” said Williams.

Any remaining Styrofoam products will be used throughout summer school and possibly for the beginning of the school year.
