ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, VA (Rocktown Now) — The Rockingham County Department of Fire and Rescue says they will be conducting live fire exercises today.

The exercises are in the area of Spotswood Trail and Indian Trail Road, behind Massanutten Presbyterian Church, and officials say there will be a significant amount of smoke in the area.

Officials add that practicing in actual structures are vital to the ongoing training of new firefighters.

The property was donated by the homeowner specifically for this use.
