Raynald Anthony “Chip” Newman, 67, of Elkton, Virginia, passed away Friday, May 3, 2024 at Sentara RMH Medical Center in Harrisonburg. He was born May 24, 1956 in Vienna, Virginia and was the son of the late Joe Quinn, Artie Newman and Ida Juanita Williams Newman.
Chip was raised in Northern Virginia and had various talents. His family had a gospel band, Stars of Bethlehem based out of Vienna. Chip had a great love for playing the bass guitar and overall appreciation of music. He spent time living in Pennsylvania and Colorado before moving back to Virginia. Chip was looking forward to the restoration of his 64 Ford Falcon.
Surviving are his lifetime partner, Beverly Burrill-Hill; stepson, Michael Hill (Jennifer) of Crestview, Florida; stepdaughter, Sharon Burrill (Tim Wesley) of Elkton; brother, Joey Quinn; sister, Michelle Quinn; six grandchildren, Isaiah Hill, Tyrell Wesley, Isabella Hill, Iliana Hill, Ivy Hill and Iris Hill that he adored very much, as well and nieces and nephews and extended family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Guinty Quinn.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, May 18, 2024 at Kyger Funeral Home in Harrisonburg. Burial to follow at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home, 3173 Spotswood Trail in Harrisonburg.
