HARRISONBURG, Va. (ROCKTOWN NOW) – Harrisonburg and Rockingham County leaders welcomed government officials from the Prizren Municipality in Kosovo.

The Chamber of Commerce partnered this past year with Prizren’s chamber to collaborate on mutually beneficial economic development projects.

Mayor Shaqir Totaj said agriculture there is as important as it is in the Friendly City.

“I expect that when the businesses get together and try to talk, I’m sure that we will find the common language and potentially expect an investor coming from Virginia to Kosova, right,” Totaj said. “And maybe the Kosovans will be interested in selling some products because we are known for producing healthy food.”

The delegation will explore Harrisonburg this weekend before hopping on a train to New York City.
