ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, VA (Rocktown Now) – With frigid temperatures hovering around in the valley this week, freezing pipes can be a real problem for homeowners.

Gene Wagner of Gene’s Plumbing in Edinburg says the most important thing to remember is to eliminate air flow.

“The air is definitely worse than just the temperature itself,” Wagner said. “Air creates bigger problems, so if you can eliminate any air-infiltration, that would help you a lot in that situation.”

He added that for those who have crawlspaces to make sure vent windows are closed and insulate them if possible.
