WASHINGTON D.C. (Rocktown Now) After an inaugural speech promising the start of what he called a “golden age,” President Donald signed a number of executive actions, including commuting the sentences of over 15-hundred people convicted of offenses related to the events that occurred at the U-S Capitol on January 6th, 2021.
University of Virginia political analyst Larry Sabato told C-N-N this morning that the decision to do so was outrageous.
“1500 people are pardoned,” Sabato said. “Including some of those who directly and savagely attacked police. There another 14 with sentences commuted, they’ll be released. But they won’t be fully pardoned until cases are more fully examined.”
One of the people sentenced was 47-year-old Jay Matthew Kenyon of Harrisonburg, who received a 15-month prison on January 10th after he was captured on U-S Capitol building surveillance footage entering the building via the Upper West Terrace Door.
