AUGUSTA COUNTY, Va. (ROCKTOWN NOW) – The man who was charged in a fatal shooting earlier this summer in Waynesboro will have three weeks to decide whether or not to admit to the crime.

Jacob Preston Sipe, of Staunton, appeared in court yesterday for a status hearing and, according to online records, a judge set on Oct. 16 date for a plea hearing.

Earlier this month, an Augusta County Circuit Court grand jury indicted him on four charges, including first degree murder. Those charges are in connection with the death of Trevor Hill, 33, of Waynesboro, who was found dead the morning of July 23 in the front porch of a home in the 400 block of James Avenue.

Sipe remains in custody.
