HARRISONBURG, Va. (ROCKTOWN NOW) – The Harrisonburg teenager who was arrested last year after allegedly tossing a large firework into a crowd will enter a plea in the case later this summer.
Online records show that a plea hearing for Grayson Hall Smith has been set for August 9 in Rockingham County Circuit Court.
Smith, 19, is facing two felony charges in the case, both involving malicious assault.
The counts stem from an incident last September when Smith was accused of throwing the mortar-style firework into a social gathering on South Main Street. One person was seriously injured in the explosion.
Meanwhile, he remains free on bond.
