PAGE COUNTY, VA (Rocktown Now) — The Page County Sheriff’s Department recently launched its Body Worn Cameras program.
Sheriff Chad Cubbage stated that the program officially launched on December 31st and was one of his goals as part of his commitment to transparency and professional policing.
He added that the cameras help strengthen trust through greater transparency and accountability and they also provide valuable evidence that can clarify what happened during calls for service.
Cubbage said from the cost of equipment and secure data storage to the detailed policies and procedures required for responsible use, the process was challenging but it was worth the work to do it right.
