SHENANDOAH NATIONAL PARK, Va. (ROCKTOWN NOW) – The National Park Service has reopened another 16 miles of the Blue Ridge Parkway.
The park service reopened the roadway between milepost 201 near Fancy Gap to just past milepost 217 at North Carolina Route 18 on Friday.
The reopening means the parkway is completely open from the Virginia-North Carolina border to the edge of Shenandoah National Park.
The park service is reminding hikers that trail assessments are not complete and some hazards from landslides and washouts may still be present.
