HARRISONBURG, VA (Rocktown Now) – New Creation VA broke ground yesterday, May 1, in a ceremony for their expansion project, which according to a release will be Harrisonburg’s first social enterprise coffee shop and café to provide women employment opportunities.
This project will include a warehouse, office spaces, and expanded retail space to continue their mission of counter-acting human trafficking through awareness and education.
Co-founder and Executive Director Sabrina Dorman-Andrew said during her speech that this expansion has been a long time coming.
“This is more than a celebration of construction and progress,” said Dorman-Andrew. “It’s actually celebrating purpose in partnership.”
New Creation’s goal for the project is 2.55 million dollars. 1.8 million dollars has already been pledged.
