Neil David Wenger, 87, a resident of Dayton, passed away on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at his home.
Mr. Wenger was born on January 7, 1937, in Harrisonburg, VA, to the late John Jacob and Naomi Virginia Early Wenger. He was a farmer and a member of Pleasant View Old Order Mennonite Church.
On December 21, 1960, he married Annie V. Wenger, who survives.
Also surviving are his children, Nelson Wenger and wife Susan of Dayton, Michael Wenger and wife Sue of Bridgewater, Gerald Wenger and wife Esther of Dayton, Harold Wenger and wife Beth of Dayton, Alta Showalter and husband Wendell of Bridgewater; brother, Willis Wenger and wife Ruth of Dayton; 37 grandchildren; and 69 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Wenger was preceded in death by his siblings, Lloyd Wenger and wife Evelyn, John Wenger and wife Mattie, Edith Good and husband John; two infant grandchildren; and one infant great-grandchild.
The ministers of the church will conduct a funeral service at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, at Riverdale Old Order Mennonite Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The body will be taken to his home at 5733 Crystal Ridge Road, Dayton, VA, where the family will receive friends on Monday November 25, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m.
