AUGUSTA COUNTY, VA (Rocktown Now) – On April 24, 2025, the Staunton-Augusta Regional Drug Enforcement Task Force, in partnership with the Augusta County Sheriff’s Office, executed a narcotics search warrant at a residence located on Beagle Gap Road in the Waynesboro area of Augusta County.

According to a press release, over the past several months this location had been the focus of an ongoing investigation for suspected narcotics distribution activities. At approximately 8:10 p.m., the Augusta County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team safely executed a search warrant on the targeted address. Due to operational needs, Beagle Gap Road was temporarily closed to through traffic for several hours during the execution of the warrant.

Narcotics, U.S. currency, and multiple firearms were recovered from both the residence and several vehicles located on the property. During the operation, five individuals were arrested at the residence. The following persons were arrested and charged:

Marquis Andrew Johnson, 29, of Waynesboro:

  • 18.2-46.6 (F) – Use/Sell fentanyl for terrorism act
  • 18.2-248 (F) – Possession with intent to distribute schedules I or II drug
  • 18.2-308.2 (F) – Possession of firearm by convicted felon
  • 18.2-308.4 (F) – Possession of firearm while in possession of schedules I or II drug

Johnson is currently being held without bond at Middle River Regional Jail.

David Shamo Jaciess Kwliee Woodard, 21, of Staunton:

  • 18.2-248 (F) – Possession with intent to distribute schedule I or II drug

Woodard was released on bond on April 25, 2025.

Dante Scott Gray, 22, of Fishersville:

Gray is currently being held without bond at Middle River Regional Jail.

Ja’Wayne Malik Gregory, 28, of Staunton:

  • 18.2-248 (F) – Possession with intent to distribute schedule I or II drug

Gregory is currently being held without bond at Middle River Regional Jail.

Zachary Toliver:

Toliver is currently being held without bond at Middle River Regional Jail.

The investigation remains ongoing at this time, and additional charges are pending against the individuals involved.
