WAYNESBORO, Va. (ROCKTOWN NOW) – A trial date has been set for the man who was charged in a fatal shooting earlier this summer in Waynesboro.
Online records showed that a Waynesboro Circuit Court judge set a March 25 date for the start of the murder trial for Jacob Preston Sipe.
A grand jury indicted Sipe on four charges, including first degree murder, in September.
Those charges are in connection with the death of Trevor Hill, 33, of Waynesboro, who was found dead the morning of July 23 in the front porch of a home in the 400 block of James Avenue.
Before the trial, Sipe will have an arraignment hearing on March 13. He remains in custody after a bond request was denied during yesterday’s plea hearing. The trial is expected to last three days.
