PENN LAIRD, VA (Rocktown Now) – A person was injured in a multivehicle crash on Route 33 this morning in Rockingham County.

Shortly after 8 this morning, rescue personnel rushed to the scene of a collision involving three vehicles in the Penn Laird area on Spotswood Trail near Cross Keys Road.

County Fire Chief Jeremy Holloway reports that his department not only responded to the incident; they were involved.

“One of our vehicles struck another vehicle in the collision,” Holloway said. “There was some fog out, but we’re still not 100 percent sure what exactly occurred.”

Holloway says one person suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the crash and was transported to U-V-A Medical Center for observation.

Virginia State Police is currently investigating the incident.
