MOUNT JACKSON, VA (Rocktown Now) — The Mount Jackson Police Department has created a scholarship to honor late police officer Chazz Beaver.

Officer Beaver passed away on June 3, 2024.

In a social media post, the Mount Jackson Police Department released the following statement.

“On June 3rd, 2024, Officer Chazz D. Beaver left us all with aching hearts and a void in our family that will forever remain unfilled. Chazz embodied the qualities we all have aspired to attain. His huge smile, willing attitude, and compassion for the community shown through the darkness as a beacon for all that knew him to follow.

To honor his service, sacrifice, and the love he had for law enforcement, the Mount Jackson Police Department and the Town of Mount Jackson have established a scholarship in his name. The Officer Chazz D. Beaver Legacy Scholarship will be available to eligible applicants who are enrolled in Criminal Justice classes at Triplett Tech. The awardee must plan to continue their education in a criminal justice field of study.

By awarding this scholarship, Chazz’s legacy and memory will live on by helping others to achieve their dreams as he did.”
