Mary Marita Smith, 79, of Harrisonburg, passed away on Tuesday, June 11, 2024, at Harrisonburg Heath and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born on May 23, 1945, in Sugar Grove, West Virginia, and was a daughter of the late Samuel Henry and Margie Simmons Smith. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Stanley “Jake” Smith, Willie Roy Smith; sisters, Darlene McCray and Nola Smith.

In her spare time, Mary enjoyed cross word puzzle books, word search books, gardening and watching soap operas.

Mary is survived by a brother, Samuel Smith and wife, Diane of Harrisonburg; sisters, Linda Falls of Harrisonburg and Stella Ringgold and husband, Nelson of Mt. Solon.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m., on Monday, June 17, 2024, at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens, with Pastor Jimmy Kite officiating.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 16, 2024, from 6 – 8 p.m., at Kyger Funeral Home in Harrisonburg.
