Margaret Preston (Yarber) Good, 86, of Timberville, passed away on Saturday, April 27, 2024, at her residence.

Mrs. Good was born on November 27, 1937, in Washington County, VA and was a daughter of the late Stanley and Beulah Mae (Heath) Yarber. Margaret worked as a caregiver for her entire career. She greatly enjoyed baking and gardening. Her greatest enjoyment came from taking care of her family and others. She was a member of the Harrisonburg Freewill Baptist Church.

On August 20, 1961, she married John Monroe Good, who survives.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Good is survived by her children, Larry M. Good and wife, Cindy of Timberville, Teresa D. Ritchie and husband, Ralph of Timberville, and Ann M. Smith of Timberville; siblings, Allan Yarber, David Yarber, and Debbie Testerman; twelve grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews, and her beloved dogs, Yappy and Bruster.

Mrs. Good was also preceded in death by a son, Danny Watkins; eight brothers and two sisters.

A celebration of Mrs. Good’s life will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2024, at 11 a.m., at Harrisonburg Free Will Baptist Church with Pastors Paul Collins and Donnie Sherfey officiating. The burial will be held privately prior to the service.

The family will receive friends on Thursday evening, May 2, 2024, from 6 until 8 p.m., at the Harrisonburg Chapel of Kyger Funeral Home.
