MOUNT CRAWFORD, VA (Rocktown Now) — Cecil Wampler Road in Mount Crawford will be shut down from South Valley Pike to Crowe Drive for an extended period of time this morning (Wednesday, April 17th 2024).
According to Bridgewater Volunteer Fire Company on Facebook, fire and rescue crews are on scene offloading products from leaking tanks following a traffic crash involving a fertilizer truck. As of 8:30am there is no available ETA on reopening the roadway. Scene will be turned over to VDOT and VSP when we are able to do so.
As of 10:15am the road is still shut down.
***10:30 – Update Bridgewater Volunteer Fire Company is reporting that all leaks are contained, and the vehicle is being prepared for removal by the towing company. The roadway should be reopened before noon.
