Madge Weaver Eckenrode of Bridgewater Retirement Community, formerly of Harrisonburg, Va. died February 18, 2024.

 

Mrs. Eckenrode was born June 2, 1929, in Hanover, PA. and was the daughter of the late Charles T. and Kathlyn M. Weaver.

Madge was a member of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.

 

She was a homemaker and was always known to have her delicious cakes and coffee on hand for family and friends. Madge always looked forward to beach vacationing with family.

 

On June 4, 1948, she married Donald F. Eckenrode (Eck) who preceded her in death in 2010.

 

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law, Patricia and Earl Nunemaker, and sons, Daniel Eckenrode, Brian Nunemaker and Bradley Nunemaker.

 

She is survived by two sons, Patrick and wife, Susan Eckenrode of Bridgewater, Va., and Michael and wife Karen, Eckenrode of Rochelle, VA; daughters, Kathlyn and husband, Ron Diehl of Wake Forest, NC, and Gail and husband, Randy Smith of Mount Sidney, Va.; daughter-in-law, Mary Nunemaker of Woodbine, Md; 20 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
