LURAY, VA (Rocktown Now) — Luray High School will be closed Wednesday, January 22 due to boiler issues.
Page County Public School officials said in a social media post that the high school is closed for all students and staff. Maintenance staff and HVAC vendors made repairs yesterday. Officials said the systems functioned overnight but were at limited capacity this morning, which would not bring building temperatures up in time for students and staff. They added they apologize for the inconvenience and are working diligently to make needed repairs.
Officials added that any Tech Center Students who can provide their own transportation to their Tech Center classes are encouraged to drive directly to the Tech Center. Any student who does not have transportation and cannot attend their Tech Center class today will be issued an excused absence.
A decision about afternoon and evening activity will be made and communicated by 11:00am today.
This is a developing story.
