LURAY, VA (Rocktown Now) – The Luray Police Department’s Chief of Police released an online statement saying that on April 22nd, 2025, at approximately 4:40 p.m., Luray Police Department, along with the Page County Sheriff’s Office, were dispatched to East Main Street for a domestic disturbance involving two vehicles.
Upon arrival, officers observed a male suspect in a white SUV following and attempting to wreck another vehicle. Once the vehicles entered the East Shopping Center, Weakley used his vehicle to crash into the other preventing them from leaving and endangering the lives of those in it. There were two females and one juvenile in the other vehicle. Officers took Weakley into custody.
Jesse Weakley, Jr., 51, has been charged with the following:
1 count – Felony Child Endangerment (18.2-371.1)
3 counts – Felony Abduction (18.2-47)
1 count – Felony Destruction of Property (18.2-137)
6 counts – Attempted Malicious Wounding (18.2-26/18.2-51)
1 count – Reckless Driving (46.2-852)
LPD also stated in the post that, “all individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty.”
