Linda Fay Breeden Hensley, 76, of Elkton, passed away Monday, June 17, 2024 at Sentara RMH Medical Center in Harrisonburg. She was born April 10, 1948 in Rockingham County and was the daughter of the late Wilmer D. Breeden and Ruby Mae Dean.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Buddy Ree Hensley.

Linda was born and raised in the Shenandoah Valley. She attended Blue Ridge Independent Church in Elkton for many years. Linda worked for Sleepwear, Wrangler and she was a hairdresser for many years. She loved gardening, canning and traveling with her husband “Buddy”. Her family was very important to her, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be missed by all those who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her son, Jeffery Wayne Hensley and wife, Laurie; daughter, Sheila Kay Strickler and husband, Leroy; brothers, Shirley R. Breeden and wife, Louise, Truman W. Breeden and wife, Phyllis, Garry L. Breeden and wife, Linda, Lonnie W. Breeden and wife, Bonnie; sisters, Doris J. Breeden and husband, Calvin, Wanda M. Shifflett, Wilma L. Breeden; grandchildren, Whitney Kaitlin Diehl and husband, Mark, Dakota “Cody” Strickler and partner, Michael, Lindsey Michele Wright and husband, Garrison, Emily Nicole Hensley; great-grandchildren, Ayden Duling, Tinley and Weston Diehl.

A funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m., Sunday, June 23, 2024 at Kyger Funeral Home in Elkton with the Rev. David Wade officiating. Burial to follow at Elk Run Cemetery.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Saturday, June 22, 2024 at the funeral home.
