Lena E. “Lee” Dennis, 58, of McGaheysville, passed away on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at Sentara Rockingham Memorial Hospital.

Lee was born, on November 18, 1965, and was the daughter of the late Louie Wayne and Goldie Lee Miller Dennis.

Lee was an outdoorsy person, who loved flowers. She also loved her family, lighthouses, animals, and older vehicles, especially her old Chevy truck. She will be remembered for her strong and independent nature.

She is survived by her life partner, Mitch Hammer; daughter, Kassie Anderson and her husband, Cody; grandson, Ryder Anderson; step-sister, Tammy Knicely; Mitch’s daughter, Ashley Hammer; his grandson, Grayson Hammer; his mother, Dot Hammer; and his sister, Pam Hammer. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Blake Dennis.

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens, with Reverend Carter Dean officiating.
