Larry Eugene Crider, Jr., 54, of Timberville passed away at his home on Friday, October 25, 2024.
He was born February 3, 1970 in Harrisonburg to Larry E., Sr. and Linda Halterman Crider of Timberville.
Larry started his career in law enforcement at the early age of 24 and retired in June of 2020 with 26 years of service. He was a loving husband, son, and devoted dad, a man who truly loved spending time with his family. Family was very important to him and welcomed them anytime day or night.
Larry also enjoyed hunting but not only for the thrill of “getting the big one,” but to feel the closest to God and converse with him and to feel his presence as he sat still taking in all of God’s glorious views from the mountain top of his Appalachia family and for all he created.
Larry was a godly man and had a strong relationship with the “ole master.” Larry would speak of God as if he was his favorite family member without giving it a second thought, speaking the gospel at any given time.
Larry had a very special talent that was in the form of verse, and he will always be remembered for that as well.
On May 27, 2023 he married the former Heidi Christy who survives.
Surviving in addition to his wife and parents are four daughters, Robin Crider(Kenny), Stephanie Crider(Kraig), Brienna Coto-Clinedinst, Eskarleth Coto-Clinedinst; sons, Chase Clinedinst(Desteny), Jared Sears(Hailey); sister, Rebecca Cullers(Sonny); grandson, Gage Campbell, nephew, Ryan Crider(Tabitha), great nephews; Wyatt and Sawyer Crider; and all his “extra” kids(IYKYK).
He was preceded in death by a nephew, William Cullers; great nephew, Hudson Crider.
Pastor Ronnie Miller will conduct a funeral service 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at the Grandle Funeral Home Chapel in Broadway. Burial will follow at the Crider Family Cemetery near Bergton.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6-8 P.M. at the Grandle Funeral Home.
