HARRISONBURG, Va. (ROCKTOWN NOW) – Honor Flight Top of Virginia is holding its 21st Veterans trip from Harrisonburg to the nation’s capital on Saturday.
Around 42 Korea and Vietnam-era Veterans will be visiting the World War II, Korea, and Vietnam Memorials, as well as the Navy, Air Force, and USMC Memorials.
The veterans are expected to return to the Rockingham County Fairgrounds at around 6 p.m. Saturday evening. Dianne Klopp, who is the founder and President of Honor Flight Top of Virginia, would like for folks to be there to welcome them home.
Klopp adds that it should only take about 15-20 minutes and it would really mean the world to them.
She says hand-held American flags will be distributed for people to wave and she encourages signs such as “welcome home” and “thank you for your service.”
