Joseph Lee Smith, Jr., 65, of Keezletown, Virginia, passed away on Thursday, August 8, 2024, at his home surrounded by his family and friends.

Joe was born March 10, 1959, in Harrisonburg and was the son of the late Joseph Lee and Patsy Ann Boyers Smith.

Joe was a lifelong resident of Keezletown. He was a member of the Keezletown Ruritan Club and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his friends at Cedar Ridge Lodge. He loved attending auctions, JMU sporting events, and playing with his cats. Joe was employed at R. R. Donnelley for 37 years as an electrical engineer.

On April 3, 1982, he married Carol Kibler Smith, who survives.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Megan Shepard and husband, Charlie of Rockingham.

A private celebration of life will be carried out in October.
