PHOENIX, Az. (JMU Athletics) – James Madison’s Terrence Edwards Jr. was recognized amongst the top mid-major college basketball players, as he was selected to the 2023-24 Lou Henson All-America Team.

This is the first such honor for Edwards Jr., and he was one of 35 student-athletes from a mid-major program to be honored.

Edwards Jr., who was voted 2023-24 Sun Belt Conference Player of the Year, finished the season averaging 17.2 points 4.4 rebounds and 3.4 assists to lead the Dukes to a 32-4 finish while reaching the second round of the NCAA Men’s Basketball Championship.

Also honored on the NABC All-District 23 First Team and voted ECAC Player of the Year, Edwards Jr. scored in double figures 32 times this season, which included going over 20 points on 10 occasions. He shot 42.7 percent (203/475) from the floor and 81 percent (166/205) from the free throw line.

His 618 points this past season were the fifth-most by a JMU player in a single season, while he ranked 10th in the single-season list with 123 total assists. Edwards Jr. capped off his JMU career with 1,414 career points, which is tied for 10th all-time for the program.
