HARRISONBURG, Va. (JMU Athletics) – James Madison lacrosse attacker Isabella Peterson was named an ILWomen Second Team All-American while freshman defender Ava Bleckley and sophomore attacker Maddie Epke earned Honorable Mention, Inside Lacrosse announced on Thursday.

Peterson and Epke are taking home their second All-American awards of the 2024 postseason, as Peterson was named a USA Lacrosse First-Team All-American and Epke garnered Honorable Mention. Bleckley’s All-American honor is the first of her career.

Senior attacker Peterson finished the season leading the Dukes in multiple statistical categories, including goals (75), points (88), shots (149) and shots on goal (115). She also ranked in the top-25 in the nation in six categories and the top-10 in three.

The Sparks, Md. native was named a Tewaaraton Award nominee while garnering American Athletic Conference First Team All-Conference unanimous honors and nine weekly AAC awards.

Freshman defender Bleckley led the Dukes’ defense in her first year as she was the team leader in ground balls (37) and caused turnovers (31) and finished the season with 40 draw controls, the third-most for JMU.

The Newtown Square, Pa. native was honored as the AAC Freshman of the Year and was an AAC First Team All-Conference unanimous selection while earning six weekly AAC awards.

Sophomore attacker Epke dominated the draw circle for the Dukes, setting the JMU single-season draw control record of 178 and the JMU single-game draw control record of 19. She finished the 2024 campaign ranked sixth in the nation in draw controls per game (8.90).

The Guilford, Conn. native garnered a plethora of honors this season, as she was named the IWLCA Offensive Player of the Week twice, USA Lacrosse Player of the Week, was on the Tewaaraton Award Watch List, earned AAC First Team All-Conference unanimous honors and four weekly AAC awards.

Peterson, Bleckley and Epke led the Dukes to an overall record of 14-6 this season and helped them reach the NCAA Championship second round before falling to Maryland.
