NEW ORLEANS (JMU Athletics) – James Madison’s road game at North Carolina on Saturday, Sept. 21 will kick off at noon from Kenan Stadium in Chapel Hill, N.C. and will be nationally televised on ACC Network, the Sun Belt Conference and ESPN announced.
This will be the fourth meeting all-time between the Dukes and Tar Heels, as UNC leads it 3-0. The teams last met on Sept. 17, 2016, in which UNC won 56-28 for JMU’s only setback of its 2016 national championship season. The teams also met in 2011 (UNC 42-10) and 2007 (UNC 37-14).
This is the Dukes’ second nationally televised game of the 2024 season, as it opened the season on ESPNU on Aug. 31 at Charlotte. It’s also the first time JMU football will appear on ACC Network.
JMU was on national TV a record nine times last season, and this marks the 15th linear game for JMU since moving up to the Football Bowl Subdivision. The Dukes are already scheduled to appear on ESPN2 on Thursday, Oct. 10 when they host Coastal Carolina.
