HARRISONBURG, Va. (JMU Athletics) – Timely plays by App State aided in completing a three-game sweep of James Madison softball by a score of 2-1 in Sun Belt Conference play on Sunday afternoon at Veterans Memorial Park.

Julia Girk and Madison McIntyre gave App State (13-20, 4-5 SBC) all they needed, putting across a sacrifice fly and an RBI fielder’s choice, respectively for its two runs on the afternoon.

Jasmine Hall was responsible for the lone JMU (11-20, 0-9 SBC) run, driving in Payton List from third with a sacrifice fly to center field in the fifth.

Sophie Moshos went the distance for the Mountaineers, allowing just one run on seven hits and tying a career-high with nine punchouts.

Kylee Gleason and Reed Butler each earned multi-hit games, with List, Hall, and Madison Edwards contributing a hit apiece.

Coming on in relief of List in the fifth inning, Kirsten Fleet had 2.2 innings of three-hit ball with a strikeout.
