HARRISONBURG, VA (Rocktown Now) – James Madison University will formally welcome President James Schmidt’s new chapter of leadership as the institution’s seventh president at next week’s installation ceremony.
While Schmidt became stepped into the role of president on July 1st of last year, the event will signify the official investiture of presidential authority and the formal beginning of Schmidt’s tenure.
According to a release, the occasion is “rooted in tradition” and “honors the school’s mission history, and shared commitment to leadership, service and academic excellence.”
The ceremony begins at 2pm Wednesday, April 8th, at the Atlantic Union Bank Center.
