HARRISONBURG, VA (Rocktown Now) — James Madison University officially introduced its new head football coach at a press conference Wednesday afternoon.

Athletic Director Matt Roan introduced new football coach Billy Napier, who most recently coached at the University of Florida.

Before that, Napier authored a dominant run at Louisiana, going 40-12 in four seasons with four appearances in the Sun Belt Conference Championship game.

During the conference, Napier said he had already talked to the team and said there is already an established culture.

“There’s a mindset. There’s an expectation to win. There’s a confidence. And that group, you could just be in the room with the players today and you could see that in their eyes. And this team has been incredible to watch,” the new head coach said.

He will replace Bob Chesney once the season is complete. Chesney, who is the new coach at UCLA, will coach the Dukes in the College Football Playoff on December 20.
