ATLANTA (JMU Athletics) – Georgia State scored 10 consecutive runs to come from behind for a series opening win, as James Madison baseball fell, 10-5, on Friday night at the GSU Baseball Complex.

The Dukes fell to 16-16 overall and 6-7 in Sun Belt Conference action, while the Panthers improved to 16-19 (4-9 Sun Belt).

Sophomores Jack Anderson and Reece Moody led the Dukes at the plate, both going 2-for-4. Anderson added a pair of runs scored.

How It Happened
First Inning
The Dukes jumped out to a 1-0 lead two batters into the game as redshirt sophomore Clay Thompson extended his hit streak to 11 games with his fourth homer of the season.

Third Inning
Junior Ike Schmidly tied classmate Josiah Seguin for the team lead in home runs, hitting a two-run homer to give JMU a 3-0 lead.

Fifth Inning
For the sixth time this season, the Dukes homered at least three times as junior Kyle Langley smashed a two-run homer over the right field wall for a 5-0 Dukes lead.

The Panthers got on the board for the first time in the home half of the inning, closing the deficit to one run as they plated four runs.

Seventh Inning
A bunt single with runners on the corners scored a run for GSU to tie the game at five.

Eighth Inning
GSU took its first lead of the game in the eighth after scoring five runs to take a 10-5 lead.

Game Notes
• Clay Thompson’s 11-game hit streak is the longest hit streak since Mike Mancini’s 17-game hit streak in 2024.
• Reece Moody was caught stealing for the second time this season, snapping a streak of nine consecutive stolen bases.
• The Dukes put five of their nine leadoff hitters onto base safely.
