NEW ORLEANS (JMU Athletics) – The Sun Belt Conference announced the women’s basketball league schedule on Thursday morning, laying out James Madison’s 18-game slate for the 2024-25 season.
JMU begins conference play on Dec. 29 when it welcomes Troy to the Atlantic Union Bank Center before ringing in the New Year at Louisiana (Jan. 2) and Texas State (Jan. 4). The contest against the Ragin’ Cajuns will mark James Madison’s first time playing in the Cajundome. From there, the Dukes host reigning Sun Belt Champion Marshall (Jan. 9) and will venture to Huntington for a Jan. 15 test.
In addition to its matchups with the Thundering Herd, James Madison will have home-and-home affairs with Georgia Southern (H: Jan. 11, A: Jan. 29), Coastal Carolina (H: Jan. 25, A: Jan. 18), App State (H: Feb. 12, A: Feb. 22), Old Dominion (H: Feb. 15, A: Feb. 1) and Georgia State (H: Feb. 26, A: Feb. 19).
The Dukes will continue play against traditional Sun Belt West Division foes on Jan. 23 when Southern Miss makes its way to Harrisonburg for the first time. JMU then treks to Mobile, Ala. to take on South Alabama (Feb. 5) and will host ULM on Feb. 28 to close out the regular season.
The Sun Belt Conference Men’s and Women’s Basketball Championships will take place from Tuesday, March 4, to Monday, March 10, at the Pensacola Bay Center in Pensacola, Fla. All 14 teams qualify for the event.
