ATLANTA (JMU Athletics) – Crystal Henderson drove and dished to Cheyenne Hollman who scored with 0.4 seconds remaining in overtime to give Georgia State women’s basketball a 72-70 overtime victory over James Madison inside the GSU Convocation Center on Saturday afternoon.

Trailing 63-60, Henderson sent the game to overtime with a wing triple at the buzzer, giving the Panthers (7-10, 2-3 Sun Belt) more life.

The Dukes (11-7, 3-3 Sun Belt) led by as much as 11 (34-23) but went 0-for-11 from three and 9-for-20 (.450) from the free throw line in the second half. Meanwhile, GSU shot 13-for-25 (.520) from the field, 11-of-14 (.786) from the charity stripe, and 3-of-6 (.500) from behind the arc in the final 20 minutes of regulation.

Peyton McDaniel led all scorers with 21 points, while Ashanti Barnes posted a double-double of 14 rebounds and 11 points. Zakiya Stephenson finished with 11 points, five rebounds, and four assists. Brianna McLeod supplied the Dukes with nine points, six rebounds, and two blocks off the bench.

Four players scored in double figures for Georgia State, paced by Henderson with 16, followed by Kaileigh Addie (15), Morgan Robinson-Nwagu (14), and Holloman (12). Henderson recorded a game-high five assists in the win.

How It Happened
First Quarter – JMU 18, GSU 11
• After the Panthers scored the opening basket, the Dukes responded with a 10-0 run over the next 2:25.
• JMU failed to make a field goal for the final 5:25 but managed to get to the free throw line for an 18-11 cushion after one.
• Barnes registered seven points and three boards, while McLeod added a pair of blocks in the opening frame.

Second Quarter – JMU 34, GSU 23
• A quick 7-0 scoring spurt put the Dukes ahead at the 6:59 mark, kick-started by a triple from Marshall.
• Georgia State answered with a 7-0 run of their own to make it a four-point game (25-21) with 4:31 to play.
• JMU locked in late, not allowing a GSU make from the field over the final 3:41, while scoring six unanswered points before the intermission.

Third Quarter – JMU 51, GSU 44
• The Panthers cut the deficit to six (38-32) at the media timeout, with Holloman producing six points on 3-for-3 from the field in the first 1:40.
• Stephenson made an acrobatic driving layup at the buzzer to give the Dukes a seven-point advantage (51-44) heading into the fourth.

Fourth Quarter – JMU 63, GSU 63
• GSU took a 54-53 lead with 5:41 remaining thanks to a 7-0 run.
• McDaniel scored a physical layup on the left block to give JMU a 61-60 edge with 0:15 to play.
• Down 63-60 with 7.7 to go, Holloman found a wide-open Henderson on the wing for the triple to send the game to overtime.

Overtime – GSU 72, JMU 70
• James Madison led by as much as three on two occasions, with two free throws from McLeod giving the Dukes a 70-67 edge with 1:39 on the clock.
• Free throws from Gabbie Grooms (2) and Robinson-Nwagu (1) tied the game at 70-70 before Holloman scored the go-ahead basket with 0.4 remaining.
