HARRISONBURG, Va. (ROCKTOWN NOW) – James Madison University says that reports of a partial roof collapse at a building on campus during last night’s weather were not accurate.

In a statement, JMU spokesperson Mary Hope-Vass confirmed that Warren Hall, which houses the student union, did experience minor water damage resulting from leaking ceiling tiles.

However, Hope-Vass stated that there was no “collapse” of any kind, and all moisture is undergoing cleanup today.

The waterlogged JMU campus was the site of flash flooding during yesterday evening’s heavy rain.

Several roadways on campus and around the city were closed off until the water levels subsided.
