HARRISONBURG, Va. (JMU Athletics) – James Madison men’s soccer ended its home slate leveled with Old Dominion, 1-1, after an 87th-minute goal at Sentara Park on Friday night in Sun Belt Conference action.
The Dukes snapped a three-match losing streak as it moved to 1-10-4 (0-6-2 Sun Belt), while the Monarchs moved to 5-5-6 (1-3-4 Sun Belt).
Redshirt junior Cameron Arnold and sophomore Manuel Lolas paced the offense for JMU by taking three shots each, with Arnold netting the Dukes’ goal in the 45th minute. Sophomore Erik Jaspers made six saves in 90 minutes in goal.

How It Happened
• Both teams came out strong attacking, combining for 11 shots in the first 30 minutes of the match.
• Eight of those 11 shots were put on goal.
• JMU broke the scoreless tie with nine seconds remaining in the first half as a ball was deflected out about 10 yards in front of the 18-yard box. Arnold stepped up and fired a shot into the top left corner for his 13th career goal and a 1-0 lead.
• The Dukes had an opportunity to double its lead in the 73rd minute, as junior Jonas Griesbauer had a 1-on-1 opportunity with the ODU’s Michael Statham. Griesbauer attempted to flick the ball into goal, but the goalkeeper made the save.
• ODU leveled the match with 3:12 remaining, as a loose ball was set up for Lewis Rourke to tie.
