CHARLOTTE, N.C. (JMU Athletics) – Charlotte right-hander Black Gillespie struck out 11 batters and threw the second no-hitter in program history as James Madison baseball fell, 5-0, on Friday afternoon in the series opener at Robert and Mariam Hayes Stadium.

The Dukes dropped to 5-8 and have lost their last four games, while Charlotte improved to 5-6.

JMU had one base runner in senior Eli Steadman, drawing a walk in the second inning. Sophomore Jackson Logar started on the mound and went six innings, striking out six while giving up three runs and five hits.

How It Happened
Second Inning
A two-run single plated the first runs of the game for Charlotte as it opened up a 2-0 lead.

Sixth Inning
Charlotte pushed another run on the board off a solo shot from Connor Maryniak to make it 3-0.

Seventh Inning
Two runs were knocked in by Charlotte to make it 5-0 on a double into the left field corner.

Game Notes
It is the first time JMU has been held to no hits since April 7, 2006 at Northeastern.
