CONWAY, S.C. (JMU Athletics) – James Madison baseball was held to three hits by No. 16 Coastal Carolina, falling, 10-0, in seven innings on Saturday afternoon in Sun Belt Conference play at Springs Brook Stadium.

The Dukes dropped to 11-10 (3-2 Sun Belt), while the Chanticleers improved to 15-7 (5-0 Sun Belt).

Senior Jack Guerrero, junior Ike Schmidly and sophomore Reece Moody combined to go 3-for-9, with each recording a base hit.

Fourth Inning
The Chants broke the game’s scoreless tie, plating six runs in the inning and capped it with a three-run homer from Trace Mazon.

Sixth Inning
CCU added two runs on a homer and a double to take an 8-0 lead.

Seventh Inning
Coastal loaded the bases and added a run on a throwing error before enacting the run rule with a single into center field for the 10-run lead.

Game Notes
