ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, Va. (ROCKTOWN NOW) – It is the four-year anniversary of the Great American Outdoors Act and Virginia US Senator Mark Warner says the measure has been delivering big for the commonwealth.
Warner stated in an email to the media that Shenandoah National Park received $26 million to improve Skyline Drive, which is a key engine for local tourism. The Park also received $3.5 million to demolish unused structures and $20 million to improve the water system that serves the park.
The Blue Ridge Parkway received nearly $68 million to improve road conditions. Warner added that investments in the parkway pay dividends across Virginia.
