The Bridgewater Reds staved off elimination in the Rockingham County Baseball League Championship Series on Friday night with a 4-0 win at Clover Hill.

It’s the first win of the series for the regular season champs, but Clover Hill still has a 3-1 series lead as game five will take place at Bridgewater on Sunday.

RCBL MVP and Pitcher of the Year Chris Huffman led the Reds in game four as he threw a complete game shutout and had three hits at the plate. Huffman allowed only three hits from the Bucks as he struck out 15 batters and walked two. He finished 3-for-4 as a hitter with a double and one RBI.

Malachi Simmons and Mason Hamilton added one hit and one run batted in each for Bridgewater.

Reid Long threw well for Clover Hill but he suffered the loss on the mound. Long allowed just one run on two hits in five innings of work, and he struck out seven. John Siciliano, Lucas Bauer and Kevin Nevado each had a single at the plate for the Bucks.

The first pitch of game five will be at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at Ray Heatwole Field in Bridgewater, and you can listen to the game on ESPN Harrisonburg (106.9 FM | 1360 AM) and ESPNHarrisonburg.com.
