HARRISONBURG, VA (Rocktown Now) — Harrisonburg Police officials say they are aware of multiple recent social media posts circulating in relation to an individual handing out Bibles at several locations throughout the city.

According to a post on the department’s Facebook page, the posts imply that the Bibles being distributed contain a substance that could cause a medical reaction.

Officials state that they have only received one call regarding this type of complaint, and any foul play was unsubstantiated.

HPD will continue to monitor the situation, and if any further reports arise, officers will take appropriate action.

HPD encourages the public to report any suspicious behavior to ensure the safety of the community.
